While it feels like summer has only just ended, many people are looking forward to visiting their local pumpkin patch for some great photos and their very own pumpkin! Luckily, Essex has some great patches to choose from.
They’re dotted all over the county, each with their own draws. Some have tractor rides and farm animals, whereas at others you can toast marshmallows and bring a picnic!
Muddy Stilettos has highlighted the best places to find a pumpkin patch in Essex this autumn. While the larger venues such as Lathcoats in Galleywood and Hurleys Pumpkin Forest, Wickford, are pretty well known, there’s others that should definitely be on your list.
The Green Barn Farm Pumpkin Field, Benfleet
Open every weekend in October and October half term. There will be spooky tractor rides, Halloween characters and more. Plus you can see the farm animals, and get a chance to toast marshmallows.
Farmer Scott’s Pumpkin Patch, Brentwood
Open every weekend in October and October half term, from 10am until 4pm. Tickets cost £10 in advance per person, including 1 medium pumpkin each. Visitors can have a go at the new apple cannon and shock chair experience, and have a bit to eat from the food stalls.
Otto’s Pumpkin Patch, Braintree
Open every weekend in October and October half term, from 9.30am until 5pm. It costs £3 per child and £6 per adult, not including. pumpkins. Customers can join in some games, toast marshmallows, and bring a picnic!
Pumpkin Patch at Sarah Greens, Tillingham
Open every weekend in October and October half term, from 10am until 4pm. There is free entry and no booking required!
Pumpkin Palace at Fobbing Farm Shop, Fobbing
Open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October from October 17, plus half term. Opening times vary. The Ghostbusters Magic Show is also back for another year.
Prittlewell Pumpkin Patch & Petting Farm, Southend-on-Sea
Will be open on October 24 and 25 from 11am, with prices from £8.30. Visitors can choose a pumpkin, solve a spooky scavenger hunt and meet some farmyard friends from Stanton’s Farm. It has been reported that alpacas will also make an appearance!
Pumpkin Picking Village, South Woodham Ferrers
Right next door to Marsh Farm, they are open every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in October, as well as week days from October 19. They have early morning SEN sessions here on selected days, and some sessions are dog friendly.
