The restaurant closed last year and Wagamama has applied to take over the site.

Wagamama already has restaurants at Lakeside in Thurrock, Colchester, Chelmsford, and Basildon.

The new licence application is at Restaurant 7 on Charter Way in Braintree.

It’s also been proposed that there will be “late night refreshment” indoors and outdoors between 11pm and midnight, Monday to Sunday.

Wagamama Limited is intending to open from 8am to half past midnight every day of the week.

Anyone wishing to make a representation about the application should write to The Licensing Authority, Braintree District Council, Causeway House, Bocking End, Braintree, Essex, CM7 9HB.

The consultation end date is on December 20.
