Here in Essex we have so many stunning parks that families can enjoy but one in particular is an ideal spot for a springtime walk.
Langdon Hills Country Park is located in south-west Essex, on a hilly ridge that stretches between the areas of Dunton and Vange.
Featuring panoramic views over the Thames Estuary and across to London, this park is the ideal spot for a leisurely stroll, or even to extend the day with a picnic. Why not make the most of your time gazing at the views with a classic sandwich in hand?
It features an ancient woodlands dating back to prehistoric times, with flower-rich grassland meadows offering a beautiful array of colours and visitors can often see butterflies amongst them.
The Country Park is split into two main sections known as Westley Heights and One Tree Hill, along with footpaths and horse and cycle tracks that link into the surrounding countryside.
Langdon Hills Country Park has been awarded the Green Flag Award, the national standard for parks and green spaces, since 2010.
