Adventure Island announces brand new ride offering ‘panoramic views’ across Southend

Adventure Island has confirmed that they will be bringing a brand new ride to the attraction. The popular Southend-based amusement park confirmed they are making room for the new addition – the Skydrop Tower – last Friday (October 6) on Facebook.

Plans for the vertical ride were revealed last year after a proposal was submitted to the council last year. The proposal also included the City Wheel, which opened in December 2022.

The new 38.2-metre tall drop tower will reportedly be east of the City Wheel and offer panoramic views out across the estuary. According to the Facebook post, the Pharaohs Fury and Cow Jump rides are being relocated to make way for the new venture.

The seafront attraction wrote: “This week our Engineering Team have been working hard to relocate Pharaohs Fury and Cow Jump. Time to make room for a brand new attraction coming in 2024…”. Although the ride is scheduled to be launched next year, an official date has not been announced.
