Bluebells usually flower from late March to mid-May, but a mild spring can bring them out a bit earlier, according to The Woodland Trust. And did you know that nearly half of the world’s bluebells are found in the UK?
One of the best spots for people to experience this spectacle is Chalet Wood. Part of Wanstead Park, Chalet Wood is easily reached from either Wanstead or Redbridge Tube stations.

There are various types of bluebells, but the one native to the UK is aptly named the British bluebell. It also has some charmingly quaint nicknames like Cuckoo’s Boots, Lady’s Nightcap and Witches’ Thimbles.
The impressive bluebell colony in Wanstead didn’t just appear on its own. For those needing to refuel after their walk, there’s a cafe in the park overlooking Heronry Pond called Wanstead Tea Hut, open until 6pm daily, reports MyLondon.
