Secluded Essex beach perfect for a quiet walk with a friend

It’s a frustrating time for all of us, being cooped up at home and unable to hug our friends and family.

But Boris Johnson’s roadmap out of lockdown means there could be light at the end of the tunnel.

From next Monday (March 8), the new lockdown rules state you are able to meet socially with one other person from a different household outside.

And Mill Beach, in Maldon, could be a great spot to go for a wander with someone you’ve only seen through a screen for the best part of a year.

It’s one of Essex’s lesser-known beaches, unlike Southend and Clacton which attract thousands of visitors each year.

Mill Beach tends to be slightly more secluded, so if you’re after a quiet walk this could be the spot for you.

You can take in the views and catch up with a friend – though it is important to still keep your distance from one another.

The beach is found on the River Blackwater which enjoys stunning views over the peninsula.
