Police cordon off Essex home after 2 people found dead inside

Two people have been found dead inside an Essex home as police tape off the property.

A man in his 70s and a woman in her 60s were found dead inside a property on Tankerville Drive, Leigh-on-Sea, Essex, on Saturday (April 10).

Essex Police were called by East of England Ambulance Service following concerns for their welfare. There has been a police presence in the area since then.

The property has remained taped off and a police officer and vehicle were spotted outside today (Tuesday, April 13).

An Essex Police spokesperson said: “We were called by ambulance service colleagues to concerns for the welfare of two people at an address in Tankerville Drive, in Leigh, at about 9.55am on Saturday, April 10.

“We arrived and found a man, aged in his 70s, and a woman, aged in her 60s, who had sadly died.

“We are investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths and our enquiries are ongoing.

“No arrests have been made.”
