Person rushed to hospital after collapsing by road

A person has been rushed to hospital after collapsing by a main road in Brentwood.

Essex Police confirmed they were called to Ongar Road at around 3pm today (April 7) with reports that a member of public had collapsed.

Alongside paramedics from the ambulance service, police attended to the person who required medical attention.

The road was closed in both directions between William Hunter Way and North Road shortly after the incident as emergency services were at the scene.

The closure has caused slow traffic in the area and surrounding roads near the high street.

After being treated at the scene, the person has now been transferred to hospital.

Police confirmed that the road will be reopened shortly.
