One of Essex’s most anticipated Christmas markets has reopened for the festive season.
It may only be September, but many festive fanatics will already be looking to get into the Christmas spirit.
Meadow Croft Garden Centre in Battlesbridge, Essex is home to one of the most popular Christmas markets with it’s authentic Bavarian-style market.
It draws customers from miles around every year and for 2020, Meadow Croft are hoping that they can bring a bit of Christmas joy to the end of a horrible year.
To announce their launch, a Meadow Croft spokesperson took to social media with a festive ryhme.
It reads: “To counteract the misery and sadness of this year, we here at Meadow Croft would like to spread some festive cheer.
“‘But it’s still summer’ I hear you cry.
“Yet we are starting our German Market and we will tell you why.
“COVID has meant a horrible year for each and everyone, but we still thing we can have some fun.
“So we ummed and ahhed about going ahead.
“Or should we put the German Market to bed?
“We feel we have a duty to give loyal customers a good time.
“So dust off the cuckoo clocks and bring out the gluhwein.
“We want to give you a lovely time at the German market.
“But still your safety is number one – that you can bet.”
Famed for its Wintersecco, Schokokusse and on-site German food stall, the Meadow Croft garden centre has been transformed into an authentic German market for the past five years.
This year is no different to the normal, although it has been stressed that all customers must follow COVID-19 guidelines when visiting the Christmas market.
This includes wearing a face covering at all times, cashless transactions and keeping your distance from other customers.
