Mystery over ‘shots fired’ at Essex address which left person ‘shaken’

Police are investigating after shots were reportedly fired at an address in Essex this afternoon (May 5).

Officers have confirmed they are looking into an alleged incident at an address in Chiltern Approach, Canvey Island, thought to have taken place at around 2.05pm.

Thankfully, no one was injured but the person inside the property was left “shaken”, police say. Officers added they believe the incident was targeted – however, it is possibly a case of mistaken identity.

Essex Police is now appealing for information from anyone who may know more about what happened.

A spokesperson for the force said: “We need to speak to anyone who saw what happened or has any CCTV, dash cam footage, or doorbell footage to contact us.
