Man rushed to hospital after being stabbed in back

A man has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed in the back in Ilford this afternoon (September 28).

Emergency services were called to Barley Lane, Goodmayes, shortly after 4pm, following reports of an assault.

There, they found a man suffering from a knife wound to his back.

He has been taken to hospital by London Ambulance Service, where his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Sections of Barley Lane, and the junction with Langham Drive, have been sectioned off by police.

Members of the public and motorists are advised to avoid the area and make alternative travel arrangements where possible.

A spokesperson for London Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 4.04pm on Monday, September 28, to reports of a man assaulted in Barley Lane, Seven Kings.

Emergency services were called to the scene shortly after 4pm

“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a man with a stab wound to his back.

“He has been taken to hospital. His injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“No arrests have been made and enquiries continue. “

No further details have been released regarding the victim.
