A large section of the A13 is closed this morning after a serious crash.
The accident happened on the westbound carriageway at the A176 junction for the Five Bells Interchange near Basildon, Essex (Friday, February 5).
The main carriageway has been closed and congestion is backing up to Pitsea while recovery work continues at the scene.
There is currently around two miles of queuing traffic but this could worsen as we enter rush hour.
A diversion route is now in operation via the A13 slip roads.
It is not yet clear how many vehicles were involved in the collision, but we have contacted Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service to find out more information.
We will be bringing you the very latest updates when we get them.
