A car overturned on the A127 forcing the road to shut this afternoon (Tuesday, November 3).
The accident happened near the Rayleigh Weir junction in Rayleigh, Essex.
The road’s London-bound carriageway was completely shut shortly before 6pm, causing huge traffic during rush hour – and reopened just after 7pm.
Essex Travel News tweeted: “A127 Londonbound – CLOSED at A129 (Rayleigh Weir) as a car has overturned just before A1245/A130 (Fairglen Interchange). Long Delays.”
Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have been approached for comment.
Motorists were advised to avoid the area, or allow plenty of extra time for any planned journeys along the route this evening.
