A major accident near to the Dartford Crossing is causing major delays on the M25 this morning.
The crash involved a lorry and happened between junctions 1a and 1b on the clockwise carriageway just after the Queen Elizabeth II Bridge (Tuesday, January 26).
Essex Travel News tweeted: “M25 clockwise in Kent – all traffic being held after J1a (Dartford) because of an accident – traffic queuing back over the bridge to J30 (A13).”
One lane has since reopened, but now traffic is queuing back even further.

Queues of nearly seven miles are forming back towards junction 29 for the A127.
There are also delays on the lead up to the Thurrock interchange on the A13 heading west.
Motorists should avoid the route if possible, or allow extra time for any essential journeys they need to take.
