Jake Quickenden and partner in hysterics after Father’s Day card mix-up

Dads across Essex woke up to presents and cards from loved ones this morning (Sunday, June 20) as Father’s Day has once again rolled around.

One dad receiving the special treatment this morning was former X-Factor star Jake Quickenden, who lives near Colchester, Essex.

He posted a card that he received from his son Leo on his Instagram story.

At first glance, the card is what every dad would want to receive on a day like today.

The front of the card was personalised with photos of Jake and his son Leo, who was born three months ago, and inside there was a funny message “written” by Leo.

Likely written by Mum Sophie Church, the message read: “Thanks for giving Mummy the bestest sperm to produce me with.

“I can already tell I’m going to be funnier, musclier and better looking than you.

“You make me laugh, smile, sometimes cry and occasionally puke, but you’re the bestest dad in the whole wide world and I love you so much.

“Leo xxxx”

Whilst the inside of the card was signed properly, the message on the front probably needed double-checking.

Because the card that was supposed to be from Leo was signed: “Happy Father’s Day daddy, lots of love George x”

The couple were left in hysterics at the card following the mix-up with Jake saying to Sophie: “right so you got the name right inside the card, just not on it.”
