Lexden Road, in Colchester, is currently blocked after a tree fell just before 5.30pm.
A picture taken on the road shows the large tree blocking the entire road, and the pavements on both sides.
It has happened near the junction with Norman way, and no cars are able to pass.
Traffic on the road is building, with no indication when the road will be clear.
