Firefighters have tackled a large blaze that ripped through an industrial unit this afternoon.
Four crews were called to The Chase in Ashingdon, Essex to tackle a fire in a building.
At the time of arrival, the fire was covering around 50m by 10m across the building and surrounding fields.
Pictures showed thick black smoke coming from the building and filling the surrounding sky.
It took around two hours to tackle the blaze due to the difficulty in access.
Station manager Al Green said: “The site was very difficult to access and establish a water supply, so crews worked hard to set up a water relay.
“They did a fantastic job to get the fire under control quickly and stop it from spreading.”
A number of vehicles have also been damaged as a result of the fire, as well as the building.
Crews remain at the scene where they are damping down the area and checking for hotspots.
An investigation will be carried out to establish the cause of the fire.
