CHELMSFORD COUPLE CELEBRATE PLATINUM WEDDING ANNIVERSARY

Terry Fullbrook, a resident at Hatfield Peverel Bupa Care Home, have celebrated his 70th wedding anniversary with his wife, Sheila.

To mark their anniversary, staff at Hatfield Peverel decorated one of the lounges so the couple could spend their special day together with family. They were also treated to a specially baked cake from the home’s kitchen team and received a congratulatory message from the King and Queen Consort, which they have proudly displayed in Terry’s room.

Originally from Tilbury, Terry met Sheila through her uncle, who he used to enjoy motorbiking, boating and shooting with. The couple married in October 1955 in Braintree. Terry worked as an engineer, while Sheila was a wage clerk.

They went on to have two children, Pat and Kim, and are now proud grandparents to two, and great-grandparents to three.

Terry and Sheila speak fondly of their wonderful marriage and their love of travelling the world together.

When asked about the secret to their long and happy union, Terry shared: “We never argue; we always discuss any problem openly. We focus on the positives and never hold a grudge.”

Home Manager at Hatfield Peverel, Anish Philip, said: “We were delighted to help Terry and Sheila celebrate their wedding anniversary. It’s heartwarming to see the joy they bring to one another, and it was a privilege to be part of their special day.”
