A brand-new cosplay exhibition displaying well-known TV and film show cars is expected to take place in Chelmsford in March. The Chelmsford Takeover is scheduled to be held in the city centre on March 18 for science fiction fanatics to dress up as their favourite characters and participate in a range of activities and workshops.
Guests can see a range of popular show cars from the big and silver screen up close and personal, which includes the DeLorean from Back to the Future, The Ghostbusters Ecto1, The Tumbler, and Gotham Police car from Batman and Lightning McQueen Himself.
TV and movie actors will also be attending the event and visitors will get the opportunity to meet and greet them to take photos and get autographs. Stars lined up to appear at the event includes Canadian-British actor Ross Mullen and Essex actor and Star Wars body double Ross Sambridge.
Other workshops and activities will also be running throughout the day. This includes lightsaber training, hero/ villain face painting, and model sculpting. Cosplay fans can enter a competition and could be in a chance to win prizes.
The exhibition is co-organised between Essex-based roleplay group Essex Cosplayers and Chelmsford For You and will run between 10-4pm. The takeover is fundraising for local children’s charity Little Haven Hospice.
The event was announced on social media and has attracted a lot of attention with over 100 shares and 97 comments. Many have geared up for the event as they have been tagging others to notify them about the news.
