A brand-new Asda convenience store will be opening in Romford next week. The new store, which opens on Tuesday December 5, will be located on South Street next door to Romford Station.
It will be the retailer’s fifth standalone ‘Asda Express’ site, a new format offering customers over 3,000 products including a comprehensive range of fresh, ambient and chilled groceries, as well as a broad selection of beers, wines and spirits.
It will also contain a Costa Coffee machine, Krispy Kreme kiosk, an ATM and Lotto services. The store will be open from 6am to 11pm seven days a week.

Commenting on the opening, Andy Perry, MD of Convenience at Asda said: “We’re excited to be bringing our new convenience offering to Romford and we’re confident the store will offer customers everything they need – whether that’s popping in for a pint of milk, grabbing a spot of lunch on the go, or buying the fresh ingredients to cook dinner from scratch after work.
“We’re also delighted to be welcoming 21 new colleagues to the Asda family and thank them for their hard work so far in bringing our convenience vision to life.”

The rollout of Asda Express is part of Asda’s long-term strategy to become the UK’s second-largest supermarket by establishing a presence in the fast-growing convenience sector. The supermarket chain plans to launch a further 300 standalone Express stores by the end of 2026.
