The Prime Minister is due to hold a press conference later today, it has been reported.
Downing Street has announced that Boris Johnson will address the public later today in a press conference, according to Political Correspondent for the Guardian Audrey Allegretti.
It will come as England marks the first day of the roadmap out of lockdown restrictions as thousands of pupils return to schools across the country.
Under today’s new rules, people are now able to meet up with one other person from another household to have a coffee or a picnic in the park.
As of today, each care home resident is also now allowed to nominate one named, consistent visitor.
The press conference will be due to take place at 4pm this afternoon, rather than 5pm – the usual time for No 10 briefings.
The Prime Minister has previously stressed there are no promises that they will stick exactly to the future dates of the roadmap as they will be guided by the data.
