Air ambulance lands as road shut after pedestrian hit by bus

A road in Southend-on-Sea, Essex is shut after a pedestrian was hit by a bus.

An air ambulance has reportedly landed at the scene of East Street, close to Prittlewell train station.

The road is completely shut whilst emergency services deal with the incident.

Essex Travel News tweeted: “Southend – B1015 East Street CLOSED between A127 and Station Approach (Railway Tavern Pub) following an accident involving a pedestrian and a bus.

“An Air Ambulance is attending the scene.”

Essex Police and the East of England Ambulance Service have both been approached for comment.
